Changes, Reminders and Updates
Whether you're new to Bumblebees & Ladybugs or are a seasoned pro, this page
is a "must-read". We encourage all participants to read this entire page; and
if you are planning on consigning please take the time to read the whole website
as there is much to learn and re-learn with consignment!
Please note: in order to be on record to consign for one of the Fall 2009 sales
you must sign up to sell after you have logged in. ALL consignors and volunteers, both new and returning, must register for each
and every sale location! Please be sure to update your personal information so we will know where to send
your check!
Spring is coming!!!
February 2010
I'm looking forward to the Spring weather (especially since it is snowing out
right now!), but I am taking advantage of these cold days and getting my items
tagged and ready for the upcoming sales! We will be having 3 sales this season:
Hastings, Kearney and Grand Island. And just a reminder that we will be doing
pick-up the way we use to (where the volunteers will have everything sorted for
you to pick up). For the Kearney sale we need a lot of volunteers during the tear
down process and I have added a shift that is only 3 hours and counts as a full
shift. Please consider this shift.......it will get you in to shop early and be
greatly appreciated!!!
One new addition to the sales will be the Mommie Mart! We will be taking women's shoes & jeans, purses, accessories and home decor!
This will let the Mommies out shopping for their children be able to pick up something
for themselves!!!
See you soon and happy tagging!!!
A couple new additions!
August 2009
It's already time for back to school and time to restock the closets! Hope you
can make it to one or all of the sales to get a lot more for your money! There
are a couple of new things we are trying this season, so I hope we have good participation
and feedback on them! First, the trailer transport! We are offering to take consignors
items from sale to sale for them for a small fee, so they can get maximum exposure
for their items and hopefully they won't have much to take home! The second thing
we are trying is a new pick-up procedure, where the items will be grouped chronologically
and the consignor will come in with their tote (you won't leave a tote anymore)
go through and pick out their items that are left, then go through a check out
to make sure they only have their items. I am really excited for these new additions
to our sale and I hope you are too!!! For more details on these please go to the
"Newsletters" tab and look at Newsletter 2.
And the last new addition.......Another sale! We are going to do a sale in Kearney at the Fairgrounds January 15th &
16th (it will follow the shorter sales' schedules) for adult clothing (all seasons),
prom dresses, wedding attire and decorations, and home decor, etc. More details
to come shortly!
It's that time!
January 2009
I hope everyone is taking advantage of the cold, windy weather outside and starting
to get their items ready for the upcoming sales! We kick-off the Spring season
with a new location in Hastings! Then we have 3 sales following in Kearney, North
Platte and in Grand Island ~ we are growing and that means your profit could grow
also by taking your items to multiple sales! You already put the work into getting
everything cleaned and tagged, why not get your money for them instead of sticking
them away for another year! I think if consignors worked together to get items
to and from all of the sales, it would be a benefit to everyone.
I wanted to go over a few new items and bring up some reminders for everyone:
- New for the sales: no early fee for teachers on the early drop-off night when they show their
school ID when checking in their items.
- We had quite a few shifts last season that we had to work with a few or no volunteers
at all (and for those that did volunteer you are grately appreciated!), so I asked
for feedback on what we could do differently to get more people and thank you
to those that took the time to reply. I searched several sales to see what they
require and then what they offer to the volunteers and we actually require less
and offer more already! We also offer a higher % to the consignors than the sales
that I looked at. So, in saying that I have added some 2 hour shifts here and
there and for those to count as "1" shift you have to sign-up for two of them.
Some people said that the 4 hour shifts were too long, so we are going to try
that this season and hopefully we can get some new faces and they will see that
the biggest advantage to volunteering is being able to shop first! Another idea if
you have a group of friends that consign, take turns watching each others children
to be able to volunteer.
- Please make sure you are pricing items for at least $2 and in increments of a
$1 ($2,$3,etc.). If an item is not worth $2, group it together with other low
dollar items.
- Please use a different index card if you ar changing a price on an item that
you had at a previous sale. We can't sell an item if the price is changed.
- For new members, remember that you will have a consignor # of 0 until you sign
up to sell at a sale!
See you soon and happy tagging!
Hello Everyone!!!
September 2008
The sale is just a few weeks away, I hope everyone has been busy tagging their
items! Just a quick reminder that the sales in North Platte and Grand Island
have different times and schedules than Kearney, so make sure that you double
check all of them before you come out. I can't wait to meet everyone!
February 2008
As the sale continues to grow, our need for volunteers to help handle check-ins,
check-outs, & tear-down also grows. If you have never volunteered before,
why not make this sale your first experience? We really need YOU! Our volunteers
are a lot of fun to work with AND you will get to shop early during the volunteer
presale. Bumblebees & Ladybugs offers great incentives for volunteers – and
a wide variety of times for moms to participate! You can choose to consign and
volunteer, or you can volunteer without bringing in a single item to sell (which
is a favorite option for grandmas & aunts).
Volunteers shop before the public or even consignors! A small investment of your time gets you in to shop early during the volunteer
presale. Are you a really competitive shopper? Volunteer two shifts or one extended six hour shift and earn the coveted Early
Bird shopping pass. You will get first dibs on the widest selection! Plus, consignors
who sign-up for two volunteering shifts will earn 5% more of their sales.
